Springfield Hosts Annual MAMA Conference

  Last week the Missouri Association for Museums and Archives (MAMA) held their annual conference in Springfield for the first time. Attendees toured Bass Pro, Wonders of Wildlife, The Discovery Center, Springfield Botanical Gardens, History Museum on the Square, Springfield Art Museum, and Missouri State University’s Special Collections and Archives.  The final day of the conference was held in Duane G. Professor Tracy Stout of the MSU Libraries will join a SPARC Open Education Leadership Program cohort beginning this Fall semester. The cohort will attend the Open Education Conference in October and each participant will work toward completing a capstone project. Special Collections & Archives Receives Sigma Tau Gamma Scrapbook

  The Sigma Tau Gamma Scrapbook (M 114) was recently donated by members of the fraternity to Missouri State University’s Special Collections and Archives. Special Collections has digitized the scrapbook in its entirety and made it available online. Examples of items in the scrapbook include photos, newspaper clippings, and ephemera (such as invitations and matchbooks), all dating from 1939 to the 1950’s (plus one item from 1984).
