The MSU Testing Center has launched a new proctoring service using Zoom as of May 11, 2020. This service is available to all MSU students at no additional cost to them, and allows Testing Center staff to remotely proctor exams, viewing both the computer screen and the student simultaneously and record the session for later viewing for academic integrity purposes. The Board of Governors recently announced Dr. Howard Orms, professor in Theatre, as one of the inductees to the MSU Wall of Fame. Orms had a significant impact on Missouri State’s theatre program and his influence is well documented in Meyer Library’s Special Collections and Archives. In May 2020 Richard Crabtree, a local realtor and historian, donated to the Missouri State University Libraries a booklet of old photos of the printing plant where Big Chief Tablets were made. Just about every child in Southwest Missouri in the twentieth century remembers Big Chief writing tablets. At the mid-May online meeting of the MSU Board of Governors, they approved the addition of six more individuals to the MSU Wall of Fame. Dean of Libraries Emeritus Karen Horny is among that elite group.  Karen Horny served as Dean of Library Services from 1995 to 2009. On Monday, March 30, 2020, the Missouri State University Libraries began transitioning to OpenAthens to manage remote access to electronic resources (online journals, databases, e-books, etc.) from the previous proxy server system used.   One effect of this change was that users accessing EBSCOhost systems (e.g., Academic Search Complete, Business Source Complete, EBSCO Discovery Service, and more) had a My EBSCOhost account created for them.
