Archives Specialist Jeffrey Lawson has found his niche in organizing the archives of Springfield Little Theatre (SLT).

Over several years, SLT has transferred their historical materials to the Missouri State University Special Collections and Archives, located in Meyer Library, where they will be preserved, with some materials planned for digitization.

Jeffrey’s knowledge of local history and theatre makes him a perfect fit for this important project. He also currently serves as the library’s primary contact with the staff and board at SLT, providing them with information as they mark the 85th anniversary of Springfield Little Theatre.

Jeffrey was recently  interviewed for an article on SLT’s first 85 years which was included in a special publication created by 417 Magazine. This publication will be used as the playbill for SLT’s entire 85th season, and was also a special insert in the September edition of 417.

As Jeffrey said in his interview, “Preserving the story of the theatre and how it’s enriched the community is essential.”
