Yesterday afternoon former U.S. Senator for Missouri Roy Blunt visited Duane G. Meyer Library to confer with President Smart, Provost Jasinski, Dean Peters, and select members of the library faculty and staff.  Among the topics discussed: The publication activities and successes of the Ozarks Studies Institute, especially OzarksWatch Magazine. Yesterday the search officially began for a new leader and coordinator of the Digitization Lab at the MSU Libraries on the main Springfield campus of Missouri State University.  This is a full-time, exempt staff position. Derek Moser is serving as the chair of the search committee.  The proposed salary is $45,073. The first date of consideration is February 14, 2024. New furniture was installed this week on the west side of the Third Level of Duane G. Meyer Library on the main Springfield campus of Missouri State University (MSU). Major funding for this project came from the Student Government Association at MSU. SGA representatives provided input on the furniture needs and preferences for that space.
