Duane G. Meyer is a beautiful, functional building with a great location near the fountain on the main Springfield campus of Missouri State University. It has a rich array of large windows, some of which are recessed by overhangs, meaning that over time they can become dirty. The MSU Libraries is working with a local window washing firm — Clearview — to have all the exterior-facing windows washed soon, both inside and out.
Starting in 2017, the MSU Libraries collaborated with The Fairbanks, a focal point of The Northwest Project, to build a community-centered, neighborhood library for residents of the Grant Beach Neighborhood and the surrounding area. Library team members assisted with on-site renovation work, including cleaning and painting, as well as collecting and preparing books for the opening of the library. Special Collections and Archives, part of the Missouri State University Libraries, is excited to share a new exhibit on the third floor of Plaster Student Union! This exhibit was created and installed by Haley Frizzle-Green, a practicum student from the University of Missouri who will be graduating with a Master of Library and Information Science degree in May. The Missouri Hub (MoHub) of the Digital Public Library of America (DPLA), to which the MSU Libraries contributes its Digital Collections records, has recently added several more items to the DPLA catalog. Among these are newer collections from MSU, such as the Bryan T. E. Bisney Collection and several additional finding aids for archival collections.
