Dr. Frank Einhellig, Provost at Missouri State University, recently formed a small ad hoc committee to look at changes in methodologies for funding the publication of scholarly journals, especially page charges, also known as article processing charges. The Records of the Bakery, Confectionery and Tobacco Workers International Union (BC&T), Local 235, in Meyer Library’s Special Collections and Archives is a large collection from a local union that was chartered in 1905 in Springfield.  Some material in the collection dates back to 1929. Dean and Assoc. Dean Visit Steelcase and Grand Valley State University

Earlier this summer, representatives from Steelcase, a major manufacturer of furniture for libraries, offices, and schools, invited several employees from Missouri State University to tour their corporate campus in Grand Rapids, Michigan, as well as the library at Grand Valley State University. Leaders from Planning, Design, and Construction, as well as Residence Life, made the trip, as did Dean Tom Peters and Associate Dean Rachel Besara from the MSU Libraries.

Campus Delivery Service Begins at MSU

The MSU Libraries now delivers books to academic departmental offices. Faculty can initiate this service by using the online library catalog, requesting a book, and choosing the “MSU Meyer Fac/Staff DeptDelivery” delivery location. The Meyer Library Circulation staff will then deliver the book to departmental offices, assuming the Department Head has approved the service for that department.
