The results of the 2018 Biennial Survey of Faculty Morale at Missouri State University recently were released. The MSU Libraries scored quite well. When asked how satisfied they are with various University facilities and programs, Library Support received a mean Likert score of 4.10, second only Computer Services (4.16) of the eleven facilities and programs listed. Fully 77.7% of all responses rated Library Support as either somewhat or extremely satisfying. Library Holdings also scored well with a mean Likert score…

KSMU, the public radio station at MSU, recently broadcast a story about Alberta’s Hotel that featured the new Ora (“Cricket”) Logan special collection at the MSU Libraries. The annual conference of the Missouri Association for Museums and Archives (MOMA) will be held October 17-19 at various venues in Springfield, including the Duane G. Over 45 people attended the Living Ozarks event held on Thursday evening, April 25, 2019, at the Library Center of the Springfield-Greene County Library District. The event was sponsored and organized by the Ozarks Studies Institute, an initiative of the MSU Libraries. On Tuesday afternoon, April 30th, Route 66 aficionados will gather in downtown Springfield, just south of the Woodruff Building, now called Sky Eleven, to celebrate the birth of Route 66. Ninety-three years ago a telegram was sent from the telegraph office in the Colonial Hotel, now an MSU parking lot, to Washington DC that is the first recorded use of the number 66 for the proposed national highway from Chicago to Los Angeles.
