The Ozark Mountain Ridge Runners Collection (M 16) in Meyer Library’s Special Collections and Archives is a collection of newsletters from the Ozark Mountain Ridge Runners organization. The not-for-profit group of runners in Springfield, Missouri was founded in 1978, primarily by Wayne McKinney and Floyd Johnson. The group’s mission is “to promote the health benefits of running as well as the pleasurable and competitive aspects of the sport while doing its part to improve the lives of others.” The collection currently contains the majority…

March 25, 2019 was the opening reception for the Roots of Wisdom: Native Knowledge. Shared Science. exhibition. Guests were treated to a selection of tasty treats. Provost Frank Einhellig gave opening remarks on the importance of what our science has been built upon. The Exhibition will be on display until May 24, 2019.  

The MSU Libraries and the Division for Diversity and Inclusion are collaborating to host our third Living Stories project at the Collaborative Diversity Conference this April.  The Living Stories theme this year is Bridging the Cultural Divides. Hongjun Yin, a Library Associate I in the Resource Management & Discovery unit of the MSU Libraries, has announced her intentions to retire on April 30th, after 18 years of service to the MSU Libraries and its users. A departmental retirement reception is planned. Hongjun began full-time on April 9, 2001, after four years as a part-time employee. Dea Borneman, now the Head of Haseltine Library in the Greenwood Lab School on campus, was her second supervisor. For the FY20 operating budget, which is in the process of being finalized, the MSU Libraries is facing a shortfall of up to $330,000, depending on several variables.  This is approximately 5% of our annual operating budget of $6.5 million.
