In light of fiscal and strategic considerations, the Missouri State University Libraries has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) from vendors for an Integrated Library System (ILS) or a Library Services Platform (LSP). Our current ILS/LSP solution is Innovative Interfaces, Inc.’s (III) Sierra, provided through our membership in the MOBIUS consortium. Sue McCrory, Director of the MSU Testing Center, in collaboration with Missouri State Outreach, has submitted a grant application for the U.S. Department of Education’s High School Equivalency Program. The Ozark Mountain Ridge Runners Collection (M 16) in Meyer Library’s Special Collections and Archives is a collection of newsletters from the Ozark Mountain Ridge Runners organization. The not-for-profit group of runners in Springfield, Missouri was founded in 1978, primarily by Wayne McKinney and Floyd Johnson. The group’s mission is “to promote the health benefits of running as well as the pleasurable and competitive aspects of the sport while doing its part to improve the lives of others.” The collection currently contains the majority…

This comprehensive database of over 60,000 maps includes over 5,000 high-resolution modern maps of the world, regions, countries, and states. March 25, 2019 was the opening reception for the Roots of Wisdom: Native Knowledge. Shared Science. exhibition. Guests were treated to a selection of tasty treats. Provost Frank Einhellig gave opening remarks on the importance of what our science has been built upon. The Exhibition will be on display until May 24, 2019.

Hongjun Yin, a Library Associate I in the Resource Management & Discovery unit of the MSU Libraries, has announced her intentions to retire on April 30th, after 18 years of service to the MSU Libraries and its users. A departmental retirement reception is planned. Hongjun began full-time on April 9, 2001, after four years as a part-time employee.
