New Exhibit: “Words and Pictures – The Power of Literacy through Portraits and Stories”

The MSU Libraries will host an opening reception for “Words and Pictures – The Power of Literacy through Portraits and Stories” an exhibition by Randy Bacon presented by Arvest Bank and Ozarks Literacy Council.
 
The grand opening event, free and open-to-the-public, will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11 in room 107 of Duane G. Meyer Library. Light refreshments will be served.
 
According to the artist’s website, “Randy is an award winning American photographer with an extensive history in portrait, commercial and documentary photography, both motion and still. Randy has been featured in numerous print and broadcast coverage, as well as, have his artwork being featured in solo exhibitions across the United States and internationally, including multiple Art Museums.  Randy is also co-founder and artist behind the photography and cinematography of the nonprofit, people empowering story movement, 7 Billion Ones.”  
 
This portrait art exhibition features 21 beautiful, large-scale black and white portraits by Randy Bacon with corresponding heartfelt stories of the power of literacy to inspire, entertain and motivate.
The exhibit will be displayed on the first and second floors of Meyer Library through Friday, Dec. 16.
