OSI Author Talks This Fall

image of an OzarkerThe schedule of author talks and book signings being planned by the Ozarks Studies Institute keeps getting better and better. All of these events are free and open to the public. 

  • Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. there will be an author talk and book signing for the new book We Gave Them Thunder: Marmaduke’s Raid and the Civil War in Missouri and Arkansas, by William Garrett Piston and John C. Rutherford. This event will be held in the new Ozarks Room on the Third Level of Duane G. Meyer Library. 

  • Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at 7:00 p.m.: Laura McHugh will  discuss her most recent novel, What’s Done in Darkness

  • Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 7:00 p.m.: Curtis Copeland and Tom Koob discuss their new book, Ozarks Hillbilly: A Study of the Stereotype and Reality. This talk will be held in the Ozarks Room. 

  • Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 4:00 p.m.: Brooks Blevins will discuss the final volume in his monumental general history of the Ozarks Region, A History of the Ozarks, Volume 3: The Ozarkers.
