On Monday Lindsey Taggart and Rachel Besara drove up to Warrensburg to meet with representatives of the University of Central Missouri Libraries, as well as with a representative from MALA, the Mid-America Library Alliance based in Independence, Missouri. MSU-West Plains Joins the “First FOLIO at MSU” Project: Last week Dean Peters met with Dr. Dennis Lancaster, Dean of Academic Affairs at the MSU-West Plain campus. Christopher Holly’s FOLIO Presentation at MPLA Conference

Christopher Holly, Director of SaaS Innovation at EBSCO, presented and demonstrated FOLIO at the Mountain/Plains Library Association Conference in Albuquerque last Thursday. He demonstrated the Daisy release of FOLIO, which came out in September. The Edelweiss release should come out in December. FOLIO functionality includes electronic and physical Resource Management, Circ, Cataloging, Acquisitions, and Reports. It also supports add-on apps, including non-ILS functionality. Brooks Travis is attending, as Libraries-directed travel, the EBSCO Users Group for Academic Libraries meeting in San Antonio, Texas. Many of the sessions will focus on FOLIO, EDS, and OpenAthens. MSU recently entered into a three-year contract with EBSCO to implement these systems at MSU in 2020.  Last Thursday Tom Peters made a brief presentation about the First FOLIO at MSU Project at the monthly meeting of the MSU Faculty Senate. The first of two planned open forums on the “First FOLIO at MSU” Project, also known colloquially as “Leaving MOBIUS,” was held on Tuesday afternoon, October 15th. Responses to preliminary planning surveys from both EBSCO and OpenAthens are being completed and returned. Our responses will help these partners to prepare to implement their systems at MSU.
