On Monday Lindsey Taggart and Rachel Besara drove up to Warrensburg to meet with representatives of the University of Central Missouri Libraries, as well as with a representative from MALA, the Mid-America Library Alliance based in Independence, Missouri. Valuable discussions were had and connections were made regarding resource sharing, courier services, data migration between library services platforms and more. Conversations will continue, with a possible visit from a group of UCM librarians to MSU.
On Monday Tom Peters met with Regina Greer Cooper, Executive Director of the Springfield-Greene County Library District. They discussed how the two library systems can improve and deepen their collaborative efforts as the MSU Libraries prepares to migrate to new systems and leave the MOBIUS Consortium.
On Wednesday Dean Peters met with Dr. Tracy McGrady, Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at OTC (Ozarks Technical Community College), as well as several librarians, to discuss resource-sharing opportunities and options next year, after MSU implements FOLIO and leaves MOBIUS. Conversations and testing will continue.
