MSU Libraries Offers 3 Donor-Funded Scholarships

Duane G. MeyerEach spring the Missouri State University Libraries, located on the main Springfield campus, has the opportunity to award three student scholarships. All of them support library assistants or students who want to pursue a master’s degree in library science. They are made possible by long-term library supporters. Karen Horny Library Student Employee Endowed Scholarship Fund

Awarded annually to a student in good academic standing at Missouri State University that has worked for two semesters as a Library Student Employee.

MSU Libraries Student Assistant Scholarship

The recipient will be from the St. Louis or Kansas City metropolitan areas and a student assistant in the MSU Libraries. Preference shall be given to students who have a demonstrated interest in and commitment to promoting an educational environment that is diverse and inclusive.

Gertrude and Earl Anderson and Daughters Award

Given annually to a graduating MSU student who demonstrates qualities which should represent the University well as a graduate student in the field of library and/or information science.

“This is the best library committee,” according to committee chair Anne Baker. “I mean, what’s better than giving money to students?” If you know any MSU students who might be interested, please share! The deadline for applications is April 1. Students can reach out to the MSU Financial Aid office with questions.
