At a young age, after his parents divorced, he moved with his mother to Springfield, and then to Ozark. Wilson lived in Ozark until he graduated from high school in 1955. He enrolled for summer and fall sessions at Southwest Missouri State College (now Missouri State University).

Among the items currently on exhibit are photos, plays, and books. They will remain through the production of Wilson’s play in Coger Theatre: https://theatreanddance.missouristate.edu/CurrentProductions.htm
