Dean Peters to Give 4 Talks in October

    Group: Missouri Council of the Blind 67th annual convention
    Topic: The Birth of Route 66 in Springfield MO in 1926

  2. Date: Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023 (Homecoming)
    Group: MSU Golden Bears (alumni who graduated at least 50 years ago)
    Topic: Campus Life in 1973, 1968, 1963, 1958, etc.

  3. Date: Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023
    Group: Rachel Donelson Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR)
    Topic: Ozarks Program at the 2023 Smithsonian Folklife Festival

  4. Date: Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023
    Group: Historium Museum in Gainesville MO
    Topic: The Ozark Jubilee and Ozark, Douglas, and Howell Counties

Looking farther into the future, on Wednesday, November 8th, Peters will speak to Sunrise Rotary of Springfield about the immensely successful Ozarks Program at the 2023 Smithsonian Folklife Festival held on the National Mall in Washington DC last June and July. 

These talks support the outreach efforts of the MSU Libraries, as well as the public affairs mission of the university.
