New Finding Guide: James River Basin Partnership Collection

AlyssaSpecial Collections and Archives, part of the Missouri State University Libraries, is excited to announce the addition of a new finding guide available online. The James River Basin Partnership Collection documents the organization’s commitment to improve Ozark waterways. Formed in 1997 in response to an algae bloom in the James River arm of Table Rock Lake, the James River Basin Partnership (JRBP) advocates for continued improvements in water quality, conservation, and environmental education in areas affected by the James River.

As part of an internship, Alyssa Cartier, a Missouri State University student double majoring in Museum Studies and Art History and Visual Culture, organized the materials in this collection and created a finding aid.

Other internship projects involved assisting with outreach activities such as classroom presentations, an exhibit opening, and outreach activities through social media. Alyssa also worked with the digital archives specialist to digitize glass plate negatives and assisted with the Research Collection portion of a grant. Alyssa is photographed with the completed JRBP Collection in the back stacks.

Please contact Special Collections and Archives at Archives@missouristate.edu with questions about the collection.
