Rachel Besara Attends ACRL Conference in Pittsburgh

Session at the ACRL Conference in PittsburghRachel Besara, Associate Dean of Library Services at Missouri State University, attended the 2023 Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) Conference in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania last week.  While there she not only attended sessions, did committee work, and made connections, but she also participated in three presentations:  

  1. A panel “Less Stress, More Success: Learning to Effectively Manage up” with Michelle Demeter (New York University), Bridgett Birmingham (Florida State University), and Ginger Williams (Fort Hays State University),
  2. Two round tables, “Transformative Data Foundations: When, How, and Why with John McDonald (EBSCO), Jinong Sun (Fayetteville State University), and Lawrence Tredwell (Fayetteville State University) 
  3. “Life Comes at You Fast: Navigating Unanticipated Challenges in Library Leadership” with Michelle Demeter (NYU).

Rachel is looking forward to putting what she learned into practice, particularly what came out of discussions with her peers after the library leadership and assessment programs.
