Shannon Mawhiney Receives 2022 Staff Excellence in Community Engagement Award

Shannon Mawhiney, the Digital Archivist and leader of the Digitization Lab at the Missouri State University Libraries on the main Springfield campus of MSU,  will receive the 2022 Staff Excellence in Community Engagement Award.

This award recognizes Shannon’s long-standing achievements benefiting our community and region, especially her service to the Christian County Historical Society and Museum, The Connecting Grounds, and other activities within Shannon’s community. The award includes a $1,500 honorarium. 

The criteria for this prestigious award include:

  • Personal action to serve community causes
  • Significant and sustained record of volunteer service
  • Significant contribution to improve the quality of life
  • Promotion of values consistent with the betterment of society
  • Employment with the University for a minimum of three years

At the Staff Luncheon on January 6, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. in Hammons Student Center, Springfield Campus, an engraved plaque will be presented to Shannon to recognize her outstanding work as a dedicated staff member who supports and lives Missouri State University’s public affairs mission.
