Sue Reichling and Brooke Benz Present at the Music Library Assoc. Conference

Use your smartphone and the Artivive app to see Brooke demonstrate our augmented reality sandboxSusanna Reichling recently represented Missouri State University at the 89th Annual Music Library Association  (MLA) National Conference held in Norfolk, VA. While there, she presented a “lightning session” on “Using Augmented Reality (AR) as a Discovery Tool in the Library,” highlighting three ways that augmented reality layers can be added to bulletin boards, displays, shelf tags, and even individual books on the shelves to help engage users with the collection.

According to the conference website, “These short presentations will convey the many different hats that library support staff wear and describe their projects and accomplishments in a variety of presenter-proposed areas. This session seeks to encourage participation of library support staff in the Association and provide a forum to acknowledge and celebrate their work.”

Also at the MLA Annual Conference Brooke Benz, a graduate student and Teaching Assistant in MSU’s Geology Department, contributed a short demonstration of the AR sandbox in our MSU Libraries Innovation Lab. To see the sandbox in this poster come alive, just follow the instructions!

Congratulations, Sue and Brooke!
