Special Collections Spotlight: Ozark Mountain Ridge Runners Collection

Sample documents from the Ozark Ridge Runners AssociationThe Ozark Mountain Ridge Runners Collection (M 16) in Meyer Library’s Special Collections and Archives is a collection of newsletters from the Ozark Mountain Ridge Runners organization. The not-for-profit group of runners in Springfield, Missouri was founded in 1978, primarily by Wayne McKinney and Floyd Johnson. The group’s mission is “to promote the health benefits of running as well as the pleasurable and competitive aspects of the sport while doing its part to improve the lives of others.”

The collection currently contains the majority of the newsletters produced by the organization from 1978 through 2016, but new materials will be added to the collection as they are acquired.
