Bears in the Know: Library Space: The Final Frontier

Logo of the Bears in the Know luncheon seriesSeveral years ago the Missouri State University Foundation started “Bears in the Know,” an ongoing series of luncheon meetingsĀ to showcase unique areas at Missouri State University and connect personally with our friends and supporters in the community. It has proven to be very popular and successful. Thank you Arvest Bank for supporting this series as the Presenting Sponsor!

On Wednesday, January 23, 2019, the MSU Libraries will be the focus of the Bears in the Know luncheon. The abstract for the talk is:

The residential higher education experience is richly complex: academics, athletics, residence life, service, and much more. The library experience is a key component of creating educated adults. Over 750,000 visits are made annually to Duane G. Meyer Library. Libraries are combining information, services, and experiences in many innovative ways. Attractive, comfortable, and productive spaces and furnishings are key to overall student learning, retention, and achievement. Meyer Library is in the midst of a multi-year project to update and improve spaces throughout the building. Dean Tom Peters and Associate Dean Rachel Besara will provide an overview of the goals and progress to date regarding this massive project.
