Last Wednesday, September 3, 2025, Meyer Library hosted Donuts With Dean Dave in the morning. The event took place in the living room area on the first floor of the library. Dean Dave Richards was available to meet with anyone who stopped by until 9:30 a.m.

“The purpose of that is to kind of welcome students back to the fall and make it a welcoming and inviting location on campus,” said Dean Dave. “I’m new to campus. Lots of folks don’t know who I am. It was a way to engage with campus, say hello, enjoy a donut, and sort of reconnect, and connect for the first time, with folks around campus.”

Holly Kouns, coordinator of public services, came up with the idea for the event. The library’s Marketing & Communications team put it together with the help of Vanessa Lockhart, Administrative Assistant II in the library, who ordered coffee from Chartwells and 150 donuts from St. George’s Donuts.

“It was the first time we’ve ever had an event like this, so it was exciting to get to invite people from the building and have students meet Dave,” Kouns said.
