Rachel Besara to Present at WOLFcon 2024

Rachel Besara, Associate Dean of Libraries, will be presenting as invited speaker on a panel titled “FOLIO: Hear from the First Sites in Four Countries” at the upcoming World Open Library Federation Conference (WOLFcon) in London on September 26th. This presentation will provide an examination of Missouri State University Library’s experience with the FOLIO Library Services Platform, including their rationale for adopting FOLIO, the implementation process, and their current progress.

The panel will also feature contributions from Paula Andrea Díaz Fuentes of Universidad de Concepción (Chile), Susan Sandiford of the University of Trinidad & Tobago, and Dr. Shirlene Neerputh of the University of Western Cape (South Africa). These speakers will offer a comparative analysis of FOLIO’s impact across diverse international contexts, sharing their institutions’ unique challenges and achievements. This session promises to deliver valuable insights into FOLIO’s global influence on library management practices, as well as highlighting the role that Missouri State University holds as the site of as the first full implementation of the FOLIO platform.
