Two Library Science Faculty Members to Attend Online Conference on Historic Roads in Cultural Context
Anne Marie Baker and Tom Peters, two members of the Library Science faculty at Missouri State University, plan to attend — virtually — a two-day symposium on “Historic Roads in the Context of Cultural Routes” to be held September 15-16, 2022.
The Missouri State University Libraries is a member of the Research Route 66 consortium coordinated by the Route 66 Corridor Preservation Program of the U.S. National Park Service. At least one organization from each of the eight states through which Route 66 passed is a member of Research Route 66.
The two-day symposium will feature speakers from around the world focusing on historic roads and cultural corridors on several continents. Route 66 is just one example.
The knowledge gained by Baker and Peters will help MSU, Springfield, Missouri, and the entire Route 66 Corridor as we all gear up for the centennial of Route 66 in 2026.
