Brooks Travis Joins the EBSCO FOLIO Team
Brooks Travis, the head of Library Information Technologies (LIT) at the Missouri State University Libraries, will be leaving MSU soon to become a member of the EBSCO FOLIO Team. His employment at MSU will end on Friday, December 31, 2021, and he will begin at EBSCO on Monday, January 3, 2022.
According to the website, “FOLIO is an open-source library services platform that integrates print and electronic resource management. It includes core library management functionality, is built on a modern architecture to ensure continuous innovation, and supports the integration of applications from third-party providers. EBSCO provides implementation, hosting and support for FOLIO.”
Brooks was instrumental in MSU Libraries’ successful migration to FOLIO in early 2020, when MSU became the first library in North America to fully implement the new software. Brooks will be joining the FOLIO Services from EBSCO (FSE) team as an Implementation Consultant (IC). As an IC, Brooks will help bring new libraries online with FOLIO and support those EBSCO customers already in operation. Brooks will also continue to be an active member in the international FOLIO community.
Mohammad AlHamad, the E-Resources Strategist for the MSU Libraries, has agreed to take on the additional responsibilities of serving as the Interim Head of LIT until a permanent replacement can be found. The other two members of the LIT Team will report to Mohammad in the interim, and Mohammad will continue to report to Rachel Besara, the Associate Dean of the MSU Libraries.
Brooks requests no farewell reception or cards. Congratulations, Brooks, and best wishes in all your future endeavors.
