On May 1, 2018, Laurie B. Hall, the Superintendent of Documents at the U.S. Government Publishing Office in Washington, DC, wrote a letter with an enclosed Certificate of Appreciation to Tammy Stewart thanking and commending her for her “contributions to and outstanding work on the FDLP [Federal Depository Library Program].” According to the FDLP website, “The mission of the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) is to provide free, ready, and permanent public access to Federal Government information, now and for future generations.”

In her letter Ms. Ball continues, “You have been a leader, for a long time, in the Missouri depository library community and in the world of government information librarianship.” One of Tammy’s colleagues observed, “Tammy’s number one objective was always helping the patron…in this day and age of digital information, Tammy continued to provide the human touch in getting ‘documents to the people’ in whatever way possible!”

Tammy plans to retire later this summer, after over 28 years of service to MSU and users of the MSU Libraries. Congratulations and bravo, Tammy!
