Progress in the Renovation of the Third Level of Meyer Library
The renovation of the Third Level of Duane G. Meyer Library on the main campus of Missouri State University continues in stages.
- Last spring the Student Government Association (SGA) worked with staff of Meyer Library to select new furnishings for the soon-to-be-renovated west side of the floor. This set of furnishings has been funded by SGA. The new furnishings should arrive this academic year and be deployed.
- This summer most of the carpeting on the Third Level was replaced.
- Just before the start of the fall semester in August, some of the walls on the Third Level were repainted so that the walls reflected the emerging new color scheme.
- Other furnishings for other public areas on the Third Level will be selected and ordered soon.
- Some of the rocking chairs that were used and appreciated so much during the Ozarks Program at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival on the National Mall in DC this summer have been redeployed on the Third Level (as well as a few on the front porch).
- Renovation of the Reading Room in Special Collections and Archives (part of the core of the Third Level) has been discussed, but is not part of the current renovation project.
We hope to have this renovation project completed by the conclusion of the academic year next May. We appreciate your patience.
