Andrea Miller, with fellow Missouri Library Association Intellectual Freedom Committee members Tiffany Mautino, Kara Bell, and Kris Dyer, presented the Introduction to Intellectual Freedom Workshop, or How To Be an Intellectual Freedom Fighter to the Springfield-Greene County Library District at the Library Center on July 17, 2019.

The 3-hour workshop was held for branch managers and other SGCLD librarians and staff. The workshop provided an overview of the importance of intellectual freedom to the mission of libraries. Break-out sessions in small groups helped attendees become more conversant in ways to respond to intellectual freedom issues that can arise in the course of everyday work.
