Gift from Don and Ruth Martin to the MSU Libraries
Last Friday Don and Ruth Martin formalized their longstanding intention to help the MSU Libraries with its ongoing renovation project by signing paperwork that will lead to a large cash gift. The Martin’s gift will be used specifically for the new furnishings for Room 115 on the First Level of Duane G. Meyer Library. That area is being renovated and repurposed this summer, from a staff work area for Circulation Services to a homey, inviting, and comfortable “living room” or “den” for use by students, faculty, and staff of MSU, as well as by members of the general public. The Martins chose this means to advance their ongoing support for higher education in Springfield because they wanted to do something that would directly benefit students in their efforts to become educated adults, now and into the future. We are very grateful to the Martins for their generous support of the MSU Libraries, which will help position the Libraries for continued success.
