Rooms 107 and 120 of Duane G. Meyer Library Refurbished

Photo of Meyer Library Room 107Photo of Meyer Library Room 120During the last full week in February 2018 two “swing” rooms in Duane G. Meyer Library on the Springfield campus of Missouri State University were completely refurbished. With swing rooms, during most days and times they are open to the public for general use, but they also are designed and furnished so that they can be scheduled and used for special events, such as author talks, instructional sessions, writing retreats, and luncheon and dinner events. Rooms 107 and 120 on the main level of Duane G. Meyer Library are two important swing rooms. The refurbishment entailed completely new furniture from Steelcase. The rooms were designed by a team consisting of members of the Space Committee of the MSU Libraries, a representative from Steelcase, and two designers from the Springfield office of Scott Rice. A few years ago, Room 107 hosted the very successful national touring exhibit commemorating the 800th anniversary of the sealing of Magna Carta.
