Greenwood Laboratory students illustrate forthcoming Ozarks children’s book

This summer, the Ozarks Studies Institute, an ongoing initiative of the Missouri State Libraries, is publishing Ozarks Tales for Children: A Storyteller’s Handbook by former MSU librarian Cheryl “Cherri” Jones, and students at the Greenwood Laboratory School are illustrating it. The Missouri Conference on History took place at the Hilton Doubletree Hotel in Springfield, MO from March 15-17, 2023. Elaina Kersey attended as Managing Editor/Writer for the Ozarks Studies Institute, an initiative of the Missouri State University Libraries. She served as both a vendor and panelist. Haseltine Library gets new audiobooks

Haseltine Library, located in the Greenwood Laboratory School, received funding from the Greenwood Parent Association to purchase over a dozen new Playaway audiobooks. The Playaway brand is a portable device that allows the user to listen to the story by plugging in their own earphones or by using an auxiliary cable to connect the Playaway to a car or home stereo system. Sue McCrory, coordinator of the Testing Center in the Duane G. Meyer Library on Missouri State University’s campus, traveled to the St. Charles County Jail in St. Charles, MO to deliver the HiSET exam to two inmates at the request of the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
