Ozark Jubilee Digitization Project Continues
The next phase of the Ozark Jubilee Digitization Project is underway. Newly processed episodes are being uploaded to the dedicated YouTube channel of the MSU Libraries. As of today, 130 segments ( approximately 30 minutes each) have been uploaded and are available free of charge to all.
Thanks to the persistence and perspicacity of Wayne Glenn, the Old Record Collector, and the hard work and technical expertise of Craig Amason, another batch of Ozark Jubilee recordings is being uploaded to the dedicated YouTube channel of the MSU Libraries.
The first batch of digitized episodes, from the collections of the UCLA Film and Television Archive, were from the early years of the Jubilee, primarily 1955 and 1956. They began being uploaded in the summer of 2017.
This current batch of recordings comes primarily from the later years, 1959 and 1960.
All told, to date this corpus of Ozark Jubilee segments has been viewed nearly 503,000 times, with an average watch time of 8.44 minutes.
Another gift of Jubilee episodes has come in from a generous donor in the Fort Worth metropolitan area and will be uploaded before the end of 2024. It consists of over 20 segments of later episodes of Jubilee USA, including both 30-minute segments of the final episode.
