BearWorks, the institutional repository (IR) of Missouri State University, continues to grow and receive strong use.

Institutional repositories are an archive for collecting, preserving, and disseminating the intellectual output of an organization, particularly research institutions. IRs can include not only articles and reports but also data sets, multimedia, and organizational documents.

The Top Ten downloaded papers in BearWorks, determined by the average daily full-text downloads since each paper was posted to BearWorks, are shown in the captured screen below. 

The paper by Wesley H.K. Ng et al. is an example of high demand for a paper soon after it is posted. It has been downloaded 36 times in the first week after posting. On the other hand, Landon Swearingin’s Masters thesis has been downloaded 2,376 times since it was posted nearly 17 months ago, on May 12, 2019. Aaron Richards’ Masters thesis has been downloaded 6,406 times since it was posted on October 28, 2016. 

The high usage of BearWorks, the institutional repository of MSU, is an indicator that the research and scholarship involving MSU students, faculty, and staff are generating high interest globally.
