Dr. Joanna Dee Das to give author talk at Meyer Library

Next week, on November 12, 2025, Dr. Joanna Dee Das, a professor at Washington University of St. Louis, will give an author talk on her new book, Faith, Family, and Flag: Branson Entertainment and the Idea of America, published this year by The University of Chicago Press. The book examines the entertainment industry in the tourist destination of Branson, Missouri, and how it has developed over time into a lightning rod for the culture wars.
The author talk will take place in room 107 on the first floor of the Duane G. Meyer Library on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. The event will begin at 5:30 pm CST. Light refreshments will be served.
Parking is available in Lot 19. This lot is on S. John Q. Hammons Parkway in the center between Meyer Library, Glass Hall, Strong Hall, Kemper Hall, and Blunt Hall. Parked cars will not be ticketed there during the event. Click here for a color coded-map.
