Please join us for a reception for “Understanding Art and Artifact: Research and Conservation” on Thursday, October 23rd from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. This educational exhibition is the culmination of the best student research from the 2024-2025 Citizenship and Service-Learning (CASL) integrated courses ART/MST 488: Basic Conservation of Art and Artifacts and ART 386: Art of Africa, taught by Dr. Billie Follensbee.

The students researched and conserved these objects as part of their course projects. Objects studied are on loan from local museums and from private collectors. Special Collections and Archives, a part of the MSU Libraries, supports Dr. Follensbee and her students by providing study space and conservation facilities, as well as by developing the current exhibit showcasing the students’ work.

The reception and exhibit are free and open to the public. For more information or exhibit hours, contact Special Collections at Archives@missouristate.edu or 417.836.5428.  The exhibit continues through December 12, 2025.
