Interim coordinator of Meyer Library testing center appointed

Holly Kouns, coordinator of public services for the Duane G. Meyer Library, has been appointed interim coordinator of the testing center, effective Monday, July 7. She is stepping in to fill the void left by the recent retirement of Sue McCrory on July 1.

As interim coordinator, Kouns will be responsible for overseeing full-time staff, managing communications, messaging, and troubleshooting, and providing guidance for exam protocols. She will also help with alignment of the testing center with other library units.

“I would anticipate there are some changes that [will be] made because that happens any time someone retires. It’s an opportunity to reassess and readjust,” Kouns said. “My goal is to step in and make sure things are working the way they need to be, that the staff has the support they need to continue doing their jobs, and that I can help facilitate that however I best can.”

Kouns plans to spend time in the testing center to see how things operate, meet with staff, and meet with external constituents such as the Disability Resource Center and MSU faculty. She will continue in this position until the coordinator position has been posted, candidates have been interviewed, a coordinator has been hired and he or she has been successfully onboarded.
