Meyer Library hosts What’s Brewing

On December 12, 2024, the Duane G. Meyer Library hosted its annual What’s Brewing? event for employees of Missouri State University from 5:00-7:00 p.m. The mixer was largely put together by MarComm student assistants Ellie Mallett, Kayla Stehr, and Brynna Wehner.

This year’s party featured several local breweries, including 4×4 Brewing Company, Hold Fast Brewing Company, Wire Road Brewing Company, Springfield Brewing Company, Log Boat Brewing Company, and Mother’s Brewing Company.

A musical selection was provided by retired librarian Craig Amason, who performed with a guitar, microphone, and a speaker. His playlist included music from the 21st century, the 1990s, and all the way back to the 1960s, with hits from The Fray, Elton John, REM, The Birds, The Beatles, and more.

“It’s eclectic,” Amason said. “You’ve got a range of people here from older faculty to younger faculty.”

Chartwells catered the event with an assortment of nibbles to choose from, including chips, veggies, meatballs, and non-alcoholic beverages such as apple cider and water.
