This fall Tom Peters, Dean of Library Services at Missouri State University, has had several publications and media appearances come to fruition:

  1. The Ozark Jubilee Encyclopedia, compiled by Dean Peters, will be published next week by Pie Supper Press. The encyclopedia grew out of an ongoing effort by the MSU Libraries to collect, organize, and preserve recordings and supporting documentation about the Ozark Jubilee, a popular weekly nationally-broadcast live television show that originated from Springfield, Missouri, from 1955 to 1960.

  2. A reflective essay he wrote about his path from being an Iowa boy to a “come here” Ozarker will appear in the forthcoming fall issue of OzarksWatch Magazine.

  3. His review of the book Ballad Hunting with Max Hunter, written by Sarah Jane Nelson (U. of Illinois Press, 2022), appeared in the Winter 2022 issue of the Arkansas Historical Quarterly.

  4. On Tuesday of this week Peters was the guest on John Sellars’ local radio show, Sharing Stories of the Crossroads, on KICK 92.3 FM. The program is sponsored by the History Museum on the Square.
