Rare Wine, Rare Books Sells Out
For yet another year, the ever-popular and unique Rare Wine, Rare Books event organized by the Missouri State University Libraries has sold out. Over 80 guests will gather on Friday evening, July 22nd in Duane G. Meyer Library on the main Springfield campus of Missouri State University.
This year Rare Wine, Rare Books celebrates everything French – French cuisine, wine and, of course, rare books. The event features a carefully selected six-flight wine menu and sumptuous full-course dinner. Throughout the evening, University Libraries Special Collections and Archives will share recent and rare book acquisitions with guests.
David Richards, dean of library services at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and former head of the MSU Libraries Special Collections and Archives, will return to the event as a featured speaker. Sommelier Darin Link will guide guests through the wine and food pairings.
Many generous sponsors provide support this unique annual event. We all heartily thank them. Proceeds from the event support the Fraley Family Rare Books Endowment, which in turn enables Rare Books and Special Collections, part of the MSU Libraries, to acquire more rare books.
