Student Scholarships Awarded
The MSU Libraries has awarded another round of student scholarships. Thanks to all who submitted applications and provided support for those applicants, and congratulations to the winners.
Karen Horny Library Student Employee Endowed Scholarship Fund: “Awarded annually to a student in good academic standing at Missouri State University that has worked for two semesters as a Library Student Employee.”
Caitlynn Ervin and Cassidy Fox – $750 each (annual)
In Young Jang – $500 (annual)
Alejandra Alatorre – $300 (annual)
MSU Libraries Student Assistant Scholarship: “The recipient of this award will be a full-time undergraduate student properly enrolled at Missouri State University. Recipient must have cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher, be a student assistant in the MSU Libraries, and demonstrate financial need. The donor requires that when awarding this scholarship, consideration be given to students who promote a diverse educational environment on the campus or be from groups that are historically underrepresented at Missouri State and are from the St. Louis or Kansas City metropolitan areas.”
Ahvionne Caradine – $1,500 (annual and renewable if student re-applies and is still eligible)
No award was made this year for the Gertrude and Earl Anderson and Daughters Scholarship. “Awarded … to a graduating senior or recent graduate that has been accepted into a program to pursue a Masters degree in Library Science at any ALA accredited university. Financial need is required.”
