MSU Springfield Libraries say goodbye to 5 graduating student workers

This week, 5 student workers from the libraries at the Springfield MSU campus are graduating. Ainsley Frieling, Gabriella Martin, Claire Russell, Georgeanna Cannon, and Annie Simphaly are heading off to the next phase in their lives.

Claire Russell, a graduating senior, holds Boris, the therapy cat, in the Duane G. Meyer Library.

Ainsley has worked at the service desk and now works with Interlibrary Loan. Georgeanna and Claire are student managers at the service desk. Gabriella works in the Marketing and Communications department. Annie works in Special Collections.

“Students are at the heart of everything we do so to have the opportunity to work with students, especially such talented students, is an incredible privilege. They make the library better,” said Holly Kouns, Coordinator of Public Services for Meyer Library. “We have the chance to be the first job for a lot of them and the library is a more open and interesting and exciting place because they help us remain relevant to the population that we serve. They help us change our services, make our social media more fun, and they inspire creativity.”

Thank you, students! We wish you the best!
